French, 19th century. A matched pair of Louis XV style giltwood and gesso fauteuils, each having a rocaille carved cresting over a cartouche shaped back joined by padded scrolling arms to the cushioned seat, raised on molded cabriole legs headed carved at the knee with foliage and terminating on scrolled toes. Both chairs covered in brown velvet, possibly mohair. Approximate height 37.6", width 25.25" (arm to arm), seat depth 18", seat height 16".
