Frank Weston Benson (American, 1862-1951) Redheads, 1917, third published state of three, edition of 40 (Paff, 127). Signed "FrankWBenson." in pencil l.l., numbered "68" in pencil l.r. Drypoint on paper, plate size 5 7/8 x 7 7/8 in. (18.2 x 15.0 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, not examined out of frame. Provenance: Descended within the family of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morse of Boston. Out if the frame the sheet measures 11 1/8 x 13 1/2 in. It is Shogun paper with a partial watermark, and all but the top edge deckled. The sheet mildly is toned and light struck. There are brown paper tape"hinges" to the upper corners.
