Antique Gold and Swiss Enamel Necklace, c. 1830, set with seven oval plaques depicting finely rendered figures in regional costume indistinctly titled below with their respective canton, spaced by elaborately enameled scrolling links, and suspending a conforming drop, reverses with blue counter enamel, lg. 16 5/8 in., together with a pendant/brooch and single earring. Note: A similar bracelet is pictured in Understanding Jewelry, by Bennett and Mascetti, p. 99. Throughout the reverse: evidence of prior findings, the necklace probably had more pendants (probably similar to the earring) that have been removed, and was formerly a larger fringe necklace. The panel in the central drop has a hairline running down the center from top to bottom, not obtrusive, and the panel first on the right of the figures in dark colors has a hairline from edge to edge through the lady's face.
