Robertson, Dedham, Massachusetts, 1896-1929 Stylized scenic view in center with poppy border, HR in border, Golden Gate S.F. on front, blue pottery mark and From Set by M. Shephard on reverse, dia. 10 in. Note: The term the Golden Gate was coined well before the Golden Gate Bridge was ever built in San Francisco. Ferry service was used prior to its construction in 1937. A song popularized the saying there is a silver moon over the golden gate.
