Victorian Japanned Coal Scuttle, England, 19th century, sarcophagus-shaped, red ground decorated with embossed and gilded Chinoiserie motifs and scenes, hinged lid, handled metal insert, and two scrolled side handles, on four wheels, 14 1/4 x 23 1/2 x 16 1/2 in. , together with a wood handled scoop. Good condition overall, but completely re-painted in the late 20th century; both handles with bent ends; small nicks and chips to rim.
