20th century. Bejeweled patinated bronze rectangular lidded box or coffer set with approximately 37 oval emeralds and with carved white jade accent at center of lid of two foo dogs. Exterior of the box with scrolled foliate and figural motif. Unmarked. Height 2.75", width 6.125", depth 4.25". According to the consignor, this item was originally sold through Asprey Jewelers in London, England where it passed on to the Maharini Gayatri Devi of Jaipur, India in the late 1950s.
