Condition: Retouch, craquelure, mild surface grime. N.B. In paintings that he has dubbed "Aristochiens," contemporary artist Thierry Poncelet paints new animal heads (usually dogs) on vintage ancestral portraits, matching the breed and expression to the regalia of the clothing. The artist began his career as an art restorer and is a collector of ancestral portraits. Canvas is stretched on an oval stretcher.
