Léo Malempré (British, fl. 1887-1901) Young Woman Seated by a Stream Signed and dated "Leo Malempré/1904" l.r. Oil on canvas, 24 x 20 in. (61.2 x 51.0 cm), framed. Condition: Patch reinforcements, retouch, craquelure, surface grime. Areas of retouch/repair corresponding to patches on the reverse, a 2 x 2 in. area at base of tree and a 2 in. line just above the right side of figure's head and extending through her cheek. Scattered minor retouch to the foreground and in the leaves along the top of the composition.
