English Elephant-form Carved Hardwood Cellarette, early 19th century, the howdah enclosing a central well with removable insert, and front caparison with hinged door revealing fitted storage compartments, with ivory tusks, ht. 28 1/2, wd. 41, dp. 14 in. Repaired break to right ear, age typical cracks, nicks, and chips, worming, ivory with some vertical shrinkage cracks and discoloration, one tusk possibly re-adhered.
