Pair of Wedgwood Black Basalt Wine and Water Ewers, England, 19th century, the water ewer with Triton seated on the shoulder and holding horns of a marine monster below the spout, botanical festoons to either side; the wine ewer with Bacchus seated on the shoulder and holding the horns of a ram's head below the spout, fruiting grapevine festoons to either side, impressed marks, ht. 15 1/4 in. Wine: Very good condition throughout with no cracks, chips or restorations. Water: Handle professionally restored.
