David Andersen Art Nouveau Sterling, Enamel, and Carnelian-mounted Ewer, c. 1876-88, Christiania, Norway, slender tapered ovoid, with rounded lid and short spout, lid with smal open wirework thumbpiece, angular handle, the neck with openwork stylized leaftip accented with carnelian cabochons, engraved at waist with organic roundels enameled in mottled ochre and green, hammered surface, ht. 10 1/4 in., approx. 15 troy oz. with minor age wear, and a few unobtrusive fleabite flakes to green enameling at waist. thumbsized dent near base, with a pinpoint dent near base, and a 1/4" dent to underside of base.
