Impressive Louis XV-style Bronze and Marble Mantel Clock with Pair of Candelabra, France, late 19th century, the clock with two train chiming movement, with two horizontally set rotating enamel bezels, one for hours, and one for minutes, set into globe form bronze body, a standing figure of Father Time with a scythe to right, and a pair of cavorting cherubs within cloudwork to left, on breakfronted rectangular white and gray marble base accented with bronze guilloche and leaftip bands, on leaftip toupee feet, ht. 26 3/8, wd. 12 3/4, the associated pair of three light candelabra with stems formed as a pair of cherubs supporting a pair of fruit and flower-filled cornucopia, from which emerge rose-stem candelarms, on round white marble base, with beaded feet, ht. 21 in. good. somewhat overcleaned (finish a little brassy). minor chips to edges of stone throughout. the pair of candelabra are associated--they do not match exactly.
