English Steel Spur Rowel, possibly 15th century, with traces of gilding, formed as a five-pointed star, dia. 1 5/8 in. Provenance: Bearing handwritten paper label stating that the rowel was taken from the armor of King Richard III from a chest at Bosworth Church by the village blacksmith, John Wattis.
