Victorian Renaissance Revival Patinated Electrotype Wall Charger, c. 1870, Elkington & Co., makers, round, with gold, silver, oxidized silver, and copper patination, with central high relief boss of putti flying around a display of fruit and flowers, within border of griffin scrolls offset with ringed planets and plaques with months of the year from January to June, the border with high relief depictions of maidens representing astrological signs, with guilloche rim, dia. 21 3/8 in. bearing English registration mark for year 1869. with applied Elkington mark in lozenge with number 817 to reverse. some age typical wear to patination, mainlt at bodies of maidens at rim. minor wear to raised areas of high relief decoration. Would have been one of a pair, with the other bearing the names of the months July-December.
