Bisque Chinaman Tobacco Jar and Cover, France, 19th century, gilt trim and polychrome enamel decorated, modeled as male figure seated on an earthy mound with hookah by his feet, ht. 10 1/2 in. Cover; a chip under the rim; and another 1/2" surface chip to the top edge of the rim at the very back center. Jar: chips to the back rim, one along the top edge, another of about 3/8" visible on the back.
