English, first quarter 20th century. "The Captive Eagle", hand colored engraving after James Prinsep Beadle's painting, circa 1900. Engraving depicts allied soldiers celebrating as one on horseback holds the flag of France, with the massive allied army spreading back behind the central figure. Inscribed below image on left "Painted by JP Beadle", on right "The Captive Eagle - Taken By The Royal Dragoon from the 105th French Regiment at Waterloo", with a heraldic seal in center, and above the image "London, Published 1900 by Henry Graves & Co.
