Ruby Heart Earclips, Charles Vaillant, c. 1960, each heart pave-set with ruby melee, with foliate surround, calibre-cut ruby accents, 14 and 18kt gold mounts, lg. 1 in., unsigned, (missing two rubies). Note: Charles Vaillant was a prominent New York jeweler who had worked for the Duke of Verdura, and after opening his own atelier, continued to serve private clients he had cultivated at Verdura. In collaboration with Alemany & Ertman Inc., he produced jewels for Salvador Dali, including the enamel and jeweled "Eye of Time" and diamond-encrusted anemone brooches.
