Regency Rosewood and Brass-mounted Writing Desk, c. 1810, upper section with three-quarter brass gallery and open trelliswork sides above a shelf and two small drawers; lower section with hinged writing surface and leather-lined interior, frieze drawer and circular tapered legs, on casters, ht. 44 1/2, wd. 30, dp. 17 3/4 in. Six inch crack to back left corner of top shelf and the gallery is a little cock-eyed; minor discoloration to metal mounts; slight shrinkage to hinged lid; loss to veneer on back left corner of lower section; minor age typical defects.
