English Elmwood Blanket Chest, dated 1718, with rectangular top and case, the front panel carved with elaborate designs of half sunbursts and trelliswork spandrels above diamond-shaped motifs, with wrought iron hardware, ht. 19 1/2, wd. 44, dp. 17 1/2 in. Top with significant sun damage and uneven color, front panel with shrinkage crack to right front side and to both side panels, base discolored with age typical additional defects.
