Four American Sterling Matchsafes, late 19th century, a Gorham example with Art Nouveau acorns and oak leaves, monogrammed, lg. 2 5/8, a Whiting example with a seahorse to front, monogrammed, lg. 2 1/2, and a Reeves & Sillcocks example with nude Lady Liberty carried on the back of a flying eagle to front, lg. 2 3/4, and an unmarked example acid etched with a dragon amidst scrolls, lg. 2 1/2 in., approx. 4 troy oz. seahorse with a very small ding. acorns with corner dent, and resultant pinhole in metal. dragon and lady liberty good. minor age wear throughout.
