Seven Silver and Silver Plate Matchsafes, late 19th/early 20th century, five silver: an American sterling example, with Art Nouveau sea nymphs writhing in waves, a diagonally fluted English, a Continental . 800 with classical urn, a Gorham sterling with C-scrolls and flowerheads, and a Japanese silver with gate and Mt. Fuji, with black, copper, and gold patination; and two silver plate: an Edwardian coronation, and a liquor retailer's, with scantily clad woman holding up a wine glass, lg. 1 3/4 to 2 5/8 in., approx. 4 troy oz. total weighable silver. The two silverplate with wear to plating (coronation quite worn; retailer's with wear mainly to lid and edges). 5 silver examples with light age/usage wear.
