Six Piece Empire Coin Silver Tea Service with Silverplated Tray, New York, c. 1835, Frederick Marquand, maker, comprising lobed ovoid kettle on stand with domed lid, on square base and scroll feet, with interior warming sleeve, ht. 14 3/4, large teapot, ht. 9 3/4, small teapot, ht. 7 1/2, covered sugar, creamer, and waste bowl, all lobed ovoid with foliate banding and conforming trumpet foot, engraved with small bright cut monogram, with a large associated silverplate serving tray with foliate rim, lg. to handles 34 in., approx. 214 troy oz. total. tray with typical minor surface scratching. kettle engraved above spout: GOT to SJ (?) . marked beside Marquand mark at foot with lion passant going right, male profile, and the letter G. large teapot, waste bowl, creamer and sugar: minor pinpoint dings to lobing. small teapot: repairs to each lobe and likely to area of foot. all with overall minor age/usage wear, and rubbing to monogram.
