Robert Garrard Victorian Three-part Silver Plateau, London, 1871, with rounded end pieces flanking rectangular center section, each section with central rounded horizontal band with overlapping leaftip flanked by pierced quatrefoil scalloped upper rim, and lower rim with partially reeded openwork flutes and stylized husk flowers, the end sections with a single toupee foot accented with leaftip and topped by a patera boss, the center section and the center edge of one end section with four further legs with patera bosses, the silver and mirror mounted on mahogany, edge of center section stamped "R. S. Garrard Panton St London," wd. to 25 1/2, lg. 69 in. fully hallmarked throughout. crack to edge of mirror panel to one end section (approx. 3" long), and strip of damage/loss to silvering just off center of this panel (approx. 5" long and 1/8" wide). Center section lacking one locking pin plate to underside (which likely relates to the crack along the edge of the corresponding end piece, as the lack of this pin causes stress at that edge). Will need another pin, or a support, for end piece to sit flush and securely to center section. Center section with long central scratch to mirror, and with some small edge losses to mirror plate. A few attaching screws missing from the edge trim at underside. minor age typical wear.
