American Red Painted and Carved Miniature Ladder-back Rocking Chair, signed WEB and dated 1848, with six rungs with turned uprights, molded arms carved with hands at the hand-holds, the right side holding a stone carved with H, the left hand carved with a devil's face underneath, strap seat on turned legs joined by stretchers, on rockers, ht. 13.5 in., (one rear rocker tip repaired, minor wear to paint).
