Large Papier-mache Child, Germany, c. 1850, papier-mache shoulder head with molded and painted features, short curly black hair with brush stroked front bangs and tendrils in front of molded exposed ears, brown painted eyes, closed mouth, cloth body with kid arms, wearing a red wool dress with soutache trim and brown leather shoes, ht. 30 in., (very good). blacklighting shows evidence of minor paint touch-ups to face. some age wear to hands.
