Six Early English Small Silver Spoons, London, a Charles I trefid example, 1642, monogrammed, lg. 4, and five early Georgian comprising: a goldwashed and engraved trefid pair, William Matthews, maker, lg. 4 1/4, a dognose pair, maker possibly John Pero, engraved with crest, lg. 4, and a trefid with rubbed marks, lg. 3 7/8 in., approx. 2 troy oz. total. the goldwashed pair: with maker's mark and leopard head only. one bowl with scratching at shoulder. age typical wear dognose pair: marks rubbed. bends to dognose, and wear to ends of bowls. 1642 example: marked with date letter, and piece of a maker's mark only. wear to bowl, with bending to edge. single dognose: marks rubbed. minor age typical wear.
