Pair of George III Silver Casters, London, 1770, makers' mark IM ID, baluster form, with baluster finials on the pierced lids, spreading foot with reeded band, monogrammed, ht. 6 1/4 in., approx. 10 troy oz. marks OK. one finial bent a bit. one with spots of salt corrosion, and light ding to neck. the other with dings to bulbous portion of body, and old spot of repair at top of lid, with small hole in metal, and spot of seam opening very slightly. heavy wear to engraving. likely lacquered.
