18kt Gold Disc Necklace, Robert Lee Morris, c. 1975, composed of twenty-nine disks, 70.1 dwt, lg. 16 1/4 in., with signature plaque. Note: The following collection of Robert Lee Morris jewelry represents shapes and forms from his original signature collection of the mid-1970s. The use of wide swollen cuffs and discs evokes a sense of luxury. The knuckle form in particular is one of his most prominent motifs, used variously in much of his jewelry and fashion. Morris has collaborated with Donna Karan since her first fashion show in 1985, which included many versions of his disc and knuckle forms, as well as with many other notable fashion designers including Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, and Karl Lagerfeld. These lots are from the collection of Mary Brenda Cortell, acquired directly from the artist. Very minor surface scratches from normal wear, otherwise without issues.
