Scarab Paperweight Blue iridescent glass Probably Tiffany, 20th century Molded glass in the form of a scarab beetle, unmarked, lg. 4 7/8 in. Literature: Robert Koch, Louis C. Tiffany's Glass Bronzes Lamps , p. 29, illustrates glass scarab beetles, the smaller ones were used for accents on lamps, pottery, and jewelry; the larger as small lamp shades or paperweights, most were not marked or signed. Contemporary copies are now reaching the market but the quality of the iridescent glass is not the same, and the molding is muddled and heavy.
