George III Mahogany and Inlay Work Box, late 18th/early 19th century, rectangular, with chequerbanding to borders, with brass lion mask pendant handles, hinged lid opening to later damask-lined interior with three removable trays, and with single base drawer, with bone/ivory escutcheons, wd. 12, dp. 7 3/4, ht. 6 3/8 in. Box has a few losses to veneer in the lower left bottom corner and about four inches of stringing along the right edge; top has shrinkage cracking along center area of inlay and to the left front side of the cover; lacking feet; interior trays a little beat up; good color to box.
