Edwardian Polychrome Decorated Satinwood "Carlton House" Desk, early 20th century, of typical form with U-shaped super structure fitted with small drawers, centered by a leather writing surface and six short drawers, on square tapered legs, decorated allover with gilded edges and polychrome foliate sprays, ht. 37 1/2, wd. 48, dp. 25 in. Varnish very cloudy and uneven to upper section, shrinkage cracks to veneers to tops of super structure, leather writing surface very poor condition, minor chips and scratches and age typical additional minor defects.
