This work depicting the former AT&T president was a study for a portrait that was reproduced as the cover illustration for the May 1957, 50th Anniversary issue of Topics , a house publication of AT&T. A boxed copy of Topics and a framed photo of the AT&T board of trustees that depicts the final version accompany the lot.
