Norman Carton (American, 1908-1980) Abstract Composition Signed "Carton" l. r., also signed and numbered "Carton 1416" on the reverse, identified on a label and artist's stamps on the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 20 x 16 in., framed. Condition: Minor surface grime, craquelure. The craquelure is scattered, primarily to the thickest paint. In other areas of heavy impasto, there are subtle "shrinkles." The surface grime is very subtle.
