Early Grodnerthal Tuck Comb Wooden Peddler Doll, c. 1830s and later, with center-parted black painted hair with curls in front of each ear, jointed at shoulders, elbows, hips and kneck, in light brown printed cotton dress, quilted blue glazed cotton petticoat, white organdy apron, white fichu, gold-trimmed red challis cloak, net cape tied under chin, Union Jack flag sewed to cloak, a leather strap around her neck supporting large flat basket that contains miniature maps, books, belts, jewelry, shells, scissors, utensils, tea set, purses, spools of silk, swift and other items, and suspended from the basket, cooking utensils, trivets, strainers, purses, net bags and pillows, ht. 10 1/2, (mostly original paint, some losses on face and hands, legs repainted), on walnut base under glass dome, ht. 12 in.
