Bronze Dore "Cercles Tournants" or Annular Dial Clock, France, c. 1875, the elaborately sculpted urn-shaped gilt case with removable lid, two enameled chapter rings for hours and minutes with a serpent pointer, the festooned urn is supported by a fluted stem and held aloft by two classical figures with outstretched arms grasping the foliate handles while nestled in elaborate floral scrolls and leafage, on a raised base with D-shaped ends, neoclassical frieze and six pendant feet, eight-day brass time and bell strike rectangular movement enclosed within the urn and stamped G.ve Sandoz, Palais Royal 147 &148 , the geared chapter ring wheel work with six crossings mounted above the movement, the bell and 4-in. pendulum with anchor-shaped brass bob on the plate on the back plate, ht. 25 1/2 in.
