French Black Marble and Bronze Statuary Mantel Clock, by Japy Freres, c. 1880, the incised decorated pediment supporting a seated bronze figure of William Shakespeare with writing implements in hand, 3 1/2 in. dia. enameled dial with Roman numerals, and eight-day time and strike movement marked with maker's name, count wheel strike and pendulum, ht. 15 1/2 in. No significant repairs or replacements, age consistent wear, tiny chips, dial in undisturbed condition, glass excellent and movement in running condition.
