Utagawa Kuniyoshi (Japanese, 1797-1861). A group of two woodblock prints mounted within same frame comprising of "Woman General Tomoe" and "Yamabuki", each carrying the publisher's seal of Ota-ya Takishi (Japanese, mid 19th century), with "Yamabuki" presented to left depicting a figure in ornate geometrically patterned robes carrying a round woven basket under left arm within a mountainous landscape with stylized sun rays above punctuated with flying birds, and "Woman General Tomoe" to right depicting a figure on horseback in armor wielding a samurai sword above her head, the rising read sun behind her with radiating rays, her white horse adorned with robes of blue to front and rear. Each print signed to lower right or left within the print alongside the publisher's seal. Overall framed approximately 19.375" x 25", each image sight size approximately 13.875" x 9.125".
