Yamada Baske (Japanese/American, 1871-1934) Woman in the Garden Signed "... Baske" with Japanese character l.r. Watercolor with gouache on paper/board, sight size 17 1/4 x 11 1/4 in. (43.8 x 28.6 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, not examined out of frame. Watercolor and gouache on sheet laid down to acidic board, signature possibly reinforced, inscribed "Mrs. Fitzsimon...Hotel" on the reverse, old glue residue and minor skinning to margins, subtle residue in areas of flowers in u.r. and u.l. quadrants.
