American School, 20th Century Carved Wood Picture Frame Unsigned, a period label from J. H. Miller Co., Inc., Springfield, Massachusetts, affixed to the reverse. Gilt wood, outside dimensions 40 3/4 x 35 1/2 in. (103.5 x 90.2 cm), inside dimensions 29 1/2 x 24 1/4 in. (74.9 x 61.6 cm). Condition: Minor nicks/losses, scattered craquelure, surface grime. Sight size is 29 1/2 x 24 3/8 in., rabbet is 30 1/4 x 25 1/4 in., minor nicks, losses and abrasions scattered throughout (including wear/losses to corners). The work would benefit from a cleaning. Nail and screw holes (with one screw u.l.) to the reverse as well as some staining/water damage visible to paper on the reverse.
