Georges Rouault (French, 1871-1958) Christ prenant congé da sa mère from PASSION, published in 1939 by Vollard (Wofsy, 341). Initialed and dated "...1936" in the plate. Etching and aquatint on laid paper with partial watermark, plate size 12 3/8 x 8 3/8 in. (31.4 x 21.3 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins over 2 1/4 inches with deckled edges to three sides, unobtrusive toning, pale scattered fox marks.
