John Marin (American, 1872-1953) Ponte Ghetto, Venezia, 1907, edition of approximately 30 (Zigrosser, 69). Signed "John Marin" in pencil l.r., signed and dated in the plate, titled in the plate. Etching on paper, plate size 9 1/4 x 7 3/8 in. (23.5 x 18.8 cm), framed. Condition: Not examined out of frame. Out of the frame the sheet measures 14 1/2 x 11 3/4 inches with all but the lower edge deckled. The work is light-struck with toned margins. There is a band of staining to the upper margin (about 1/2 in. above the plate mark). The work is hinged near the upper corners.
