Chinese, 19th century, possibly earlier. Unusual Chinese hand painted porcelain bowl, possibly Ge ware with crackle glaze, the interior decorated with yellow carp or koi swimming amidst flowering lily pads within a border of stylized winged flowerheads. Apparently unmarked. Height 2.25", width 11.15". Provenance: The consignor's mother began collecting Chinese antiquities back in the 1960's. The majority of her collection was acquired from her great paternal grandparents who were from the China city of Guangzhou, in the province of Guangdong.
