Pair of Handpainted Eggs, China, Zhou Peichun (Chou Pai Chuen), late 19th century, painted in brilliant colors, one egg with two pheasants next to rockwork, peony, and bamboo, the other egg with a crane standing beneath a pine tree and lingzhi fungus, in a divided brocade box, lg. approx. 2 3/4 in. N.B. Zhou Peichun was a well-known artisan for his watercolor paintings on pith paper in the late 19th century. His studio was in located Peking. Some damages to one side of the box; Chou Pai Chuen's shop sticker on the inside of the cover
