Circle of Fei'an Yu (Chinese, 1888/89-1959). "Two Birds", ink and pigment on silk, inscribed upper right with four lines of black calligraphic marks over two red square seals, and to lower left with two red square seals. A gift to master artist Yu Fei Chang (as indicated in inscription), a very fine painting depicting two blue and black birds, one in flight toward the other resting on the branch of a flowering tree adorned with vibrant green leaves and pink flowers, with a rocky formation in silhouette to background, the painting with an ivory floral patterned silk surround and stained wood roller. Overall approximately 59" long, 24.75" wide. Note: alternate spellings of the gift recipient's name are Yu Feichang.
