Famille Verte Vase, China, Kangxi period (1662-1722), the turnip-shaped vase well painted in famille verte palette with insects amongst camellia, herbaceous peony, and chrysanthemum growing around pierced blue rock, all between a band of underglaze blue scroll design around the neck and double lines above the bottom, the foot ring and neck unglazed, domed wood cover, ht. 5 7/8 in. (6 1/4 in. with cover). Provenance: Ex Ralph M. Chait; Ex Freemyer Collection since 1920s/1930s. Minor kiln flaw to the bottom
