Gilt Decorated Blue Vase, China, possibly Kangxi period, the bulbous body of the beaker-shaped vase decorated in gilt with a peacock standing amongst tree peonies with insects and birds circling around, the neck decorated en suite, covered overall with a deep blue glaze, the interior and the base with transparent glaze, underglaze blue double-circle on the base, ht. 13 1/2 in. Vertical hairline to the inside of the trumpet-shaped mouth, minor rubbing to the gilt, nicks to the foot ring
