Large Porcelain Dog, Chinese export, depicting a dog sitting on its hindquarters with its tail curled up to the left leg, finely painted in brushstrokes with different shades of orange enamel in the depiction of hair, a gilt double-gourd-shaped bell attached to the neck, a small opening in the back, ht. 20 in. N.B. A similar smaller scale figure of seated dog was sold as lot 2 in Sotheby's New York Chinese Export Porcelain from the Private Collection of Elinor Gordon, January, 23, 2010. Small damage to the tip of the ear (small broken pieces in a plastic bag--need to be reglued)
