Roman Glass Pitcher, 1st century A. D., with compressed spherical body, cylindrical neck with folded mouth-rim, and a broad strap handle with six vertical ribs, the glass with remaining iridescent surface, ht. 5 3/4 in. Provenance: Purchased by the current owner from Rabi Gallery in London in 1983. Exhibitions: Ancient Glass from the Orient, February 7-March 12, 1978, Tokyo National Museum.
