German Carved Ivory Figural Group of a Warrior and a Brazier, late 19th century, the figure shown in classical attire and holding a short sword above a flaming brazier modeled with bull heads, floral garlands and paw feet, on an ebonized socle and fitted to a wall shelf, ht. of figure 8 5/8 in. Missing one finger to left hand; shrinkage cracks throughout most of body, heaviest to right arm, right leg and through back of brazier, some uneven color with moderate yellowing; age typical minor defects.
