Arabic Christian Icon of St. Simeon Stylite, likely Melkite, 19th century, identified in Greek and Arabic, with a mother and child, and followers seeking healing at the base of the column, 19 5/8 x 15 1/4 in. Large vertical crack running through whole image, and a smaller vertical crack near lower right corner (approx. 3" long). Reverse showing that both cracks have old stablization repairs. Some scattered in-painting. Band at lower edge likely repainted/overpainted. some surface scratching and small gouges. Varnished.
